 In late spring and early summer, wood storks and other wading birds head to rookeries to nest.  To see one, we head into a cypress swamp owned by a married couple, who manage it as a preserve.

 At Fred George Basin Greenway, geologist Harley Means takes us to two sinkholes that may one day become one of the Red Hills' sinkhole lakes.  Also joining us is Misty Penton, who fought to get this land protected, and its connection to the Floridian Aquifer, protected.

Sophia Gauding, future storyteller for the Muscogee Nation of Florida, reveals her responsibilities and commitments to her tribe, aided by current storyteller Misty Penton. Storytellers are important for their tribe because it has become crucial to keep their knowledge alive. They also talk PBS KIDS Molly of Denali, compare values & traditions, & highlight the importance of informational texts.
